Job Title: Test Automation Engineer (Kafka and Shift Left)

Location: Lisbon with home office

We are looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in testing Kafka-based applications. This role focuses on implementing Shift Left testing principles to drive early defect detection and prevent issues in the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in Java Spring Boot, Cucumber, and test automation frameworks like Playwright, as well as proficiency in Java

Tasks

• Develop and maintain automated test suites for Kafka-based applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and early defect detection
• Apply Shift Left testing principles by integrating testing early in the development lifecycle to identify and prevent defects proactively
• Create and manage automated tests using Java Spring Boot and Cucumber
• Utilize Playwright for

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable test automation frameworks
• Execute and analyze performance and load testing with tools like JMeter
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration with CI/CD processes and maintain testing pipelines
• Perform manual testing as needed to verify software functionality and quality
• Ensure code versioning and project management using GIT

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in test automation, with
  - on experience in Kafka-based applications
• Strong expertise in Shift Left testing practices with a proven track record of early defect detection and prevention
• Proficiency with Java Spring Boot and Cucumber for test automation
• Experience with Playwright and Java

• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure
• Experience in CI/CD processes and GIT version control
• Background in manual testing and a strong understanding of testing fundamentals
