Missions

In the framework of a
- profile infrastructure project in Portugal, SYSTRA is looking for a structural lead.

The Structural Lead, with at least 8 years of experience in the field of both metal and concrete structures, with the ability to work in groups and autonomy to function in multidisciplinary and international project teams. The candidate will be focused on the discipline of both structural design of at grade and underground works.

Technical Coordination:

• Coordinate technical activities related to structures calculation to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for structural issues.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Production Review:

• Review production plans and schedules for structural components.
• Monitor and evaluate production processes to ensure they meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Identify and address any issues or delays in production.

Production:

• Writing calculation reports and descriptive reports.
• Preparation of shape and assembly sketches, and review of the plans made by the drafting department.
• 2D-3D models to obtain forces in the different structural elements.
• Sizing of reinforced concrete sections.
• Advice to clients.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct quality checks of structures.
• Ensure that all work adheres to relevant standards and specifications.
• Implement corrective actions to address any
  - conformities.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and
  -
  - date documentation for all structure activities.
• Prepare regular reports on technical progress, production status, and planning reviews.
• Ensure that all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure that all structure work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct safety assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
• Promote a culture of safety within the project team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
• More than 8 years of experience in the field
• Previous experience in the field of design and calculation of structures
• Is essential: Management of structural calculation programs SAP 2000, RIDO, K-REA and/or CUBUS package (CEDRUS, STATIK, FAGUS)
• Experience in International Regulations applied to structural calculations (ACI, AASHTO, Eurocode, etc. )
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
