Project Description

Our client, a company that helps ecommerce brands (DTC) go global with store localization, shipping, and compliance support, is looking for a Sr. Engineer to support the company's international expansion from a global team helping to adapt, improve, and cope with failures.

The team has 50 engineers organized into 4-6 person
- teams by functional areas. The company values autonomy, critical thinking, flexibility, and a

Role & Responsibilities

• Solve synchronization and load issues of our client’s distributed API.
• Create and optimize relational data queries collaborating with our client’s data specialists.
• Implement effective scheduled data processing tasks with our client’s internal Routines framework.
• Generate properly tagged log data and analyze it with Elasticsearch.
• Use the power of
  - based AWS tools and Prometheus/Grafana monitoring.
• Enrich the fancy knowledge base in Notion with new details and articles.
• Learn about the world of international shipping.
• Deal with popular
  - commerce platforms such as Shopify, Bigcommerce, and Magento.
• Understand clients' pain points and needs, collaborating with some of them directly to ensure success.
• Be a part of a supporting team that will help you adapt, improve, and cope with failures.
• Maintain transparency and accuracy in task management.
• Adapt to existing code styles, practices, and conventions, while taking an active role in their continuous review and improvement.
• Demonstrate work autonomy: improve things with little guidance while not hesitating to clarify questionable points.
• Exhibit accountability: take ownership of your work and learn from your mistakes.

Requirements

Must have:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, particularly with Typescript.
• Proficiency in Node
  JS and related frameworks (Express, Nest).
• 3+ years of professional experience with My
  SQL, Redis, Git, and Elasticsearch.
• Advanced level of English and ability to communicate concepts clearly to clients.

Nice to have:

• Experience in building distributed
  - based REST API web services.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Previous experience reviewing and improving existing code styles, practices, and conventions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
