Sports Manager
Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure is the platform responsible for managing the Hospitality, Sports, and Leisure areas of Arrow Global in Portugal. It oversees the management of major hotel units located in Vilamoura, Carvoeiro, Lagos, Albufeira, Aroeira, and Madeira, as well as golf courses and equestrian centers.
The Sports Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, execution and management of multiple
- related projects and initiatives. This role involves strategic planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives, managing key stakeholders, and overseeing the operational aspects of sports facilities and events. The Sports Manager will report directly to the Director of Sport and work closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the execution of sports initiatives across multiple business areas, ensuring alignment with the department's strategic goals.
- Support the Director of Sports in the project management of the sports centre project.
- Develop and oversee operational plans for the different sports facilities, ensuring
- quality delivery and adherence to timelines. - Build and manage partnerships with event right holders, sponsors, and stakeholders involved in sports projects and events.
- Attend and represent the organization at sports conferences, fairs, and events to foster relationships, promote initiatives, and identify new business opportunities.
- Support the Director of Sports in the Equestrian Centre project planning and build strong relationships with the operator.
- Collaborate with other departments on financial analysis, legal discussions, local sponsorships, and event assessment processes.
- Oversee budget planning and financial management across business areas, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in managing sports facilities, events, or similar projects, including experience with
- stakeholder environments. - Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to navigate complex projects.
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools.
- Ability to manage priorities across diverse areas and projects.
- Experience liaising with
- functional teams and external agencies for operational and strategic alignment. - English is a must.
Other relevant information
- This role can be based in Lisbon or Vilamoura. However, if based in Lisbon, weekly trips to Vilamoura are expected.
- This role will involve occasional international travel to attend conferences, fairs, and site visits as needed.
