We are looking for a Sous-Chef to join our
- opening team at Andaz Lisbon.

Expected to open in Q3 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This unique Urban Resort will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.

About the role

The Sous-Chef is to manage a specific department and work with the Executive Chef to create, implement, and maintain quality standards. The ideal Sous Chef will monitor the daily functions of the culinary department, providing support and guidance to the culinary team for a positive guest experience. Responsibilities include assisting in food planning, preparation, and production for the outlets, as well as menu development, food specifications, recipes, and supervising Chef de Partie and Commis. The Sous-Chef will also monitor food and labor budgets for the department and maintain the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skills
• Experience with training, basic financial management, and customer service
• A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a
  - paced customer service environment
• Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
• Strong training and communication skills
• Culinary education and/or
  -
  - job training; hotel experience preferred
• Ability to create innovative and seasonal menus
• Experience in leading, training, and motivating a kitchen team
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Strong planning and organizational skills to run a streamlined operation
• Problem-solving ability to resolve issues as they arise
• Pre-Opening Experience an advantage
