Location: Porto, Portugal (Hybrid, 3 days in the office per week)

What is our client looking for?

Our client, a global leader in payment technology and orchestration, is seeking a Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Architecture, and Security. This is a strategic role for someone passionate about building scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments that power critical payment systems.

You’ll define foundational cloud services, lead architecture for infrastructure and platform teams, and embed security best practices throughout. As a key technical leader, you’ll collaborate across teams to align technical vision with business strategy—ultimately shaping the future of digital payments.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement cloud infrastructure architectures covering compute, storage, networking, and databases.
2. Establish architecture standards for cloud platforms and guide foundational infrastructure development.
3. Develop robust cloud security architectures (IAM, encryption, network security, vulnerability management).
4. Architect highly available, scalable systems using Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia
   C), automation, and microservices.
5. Collaborate with App
   Sec and Sec
   Ops teams to define proactive security measures.
6. Design SIEM and monitoring frameworks to identify and mitigate threats early.
7. Ensure cloud environments meet compliance standards (e. g. , PCI DSS, GDPR).
8. Create and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans in collaboration with engineering teams.
9. Drive strategic cloud governance initiatives to align infrastructure with business objectives.
10. Identify and mitigate operational risks across environments.
11. Act as a technical mentor, fostering excellence within engineering and architecture teams.
12. Communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both technical and
    - technical stakeholders.
13. Evaluate new technologies and advise on solutions aligned with business needs.
14. Maintain architectural documentation, standards, and reusable design patterns.

Who you are:

Must-Have Experience

1. Deep experience in cloud infrastructure architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).
2. Proven track record in secure, scalable platform design with modern Dev
   Ops practices.
3. Strong background in cloud security frameworks, identity & access management, and compliance standards.
4. Experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, and
   - availability systems.
5. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
6. Experience in payments, fintech, or highly regulated industries.
7. Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and microservices.
8. Familiarity with SIEM tools, logging and monitoring platforms.
9. Proficiency in modern Ia
   C tools (e. g. , Terraform, Cloud
   Formation).
10. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
11. Fluency in designing with performance,
    - efficiency, and resilience in mind.
