About the Role

The Backend Engineer at i
Capital will play an integral role in designing and implementing systems that power the i
Capital platform. We are looking for engineers who can build APIs and applications that are highly performant and intuitive. More than checking the boxes on specific technologies, we are looking for driven team members with technical depth and a desire to deliver end products for our clients.

You will work closely with our Integrated Offerings Product Management team throughout the software development process, detailing requirements, reviewing work in progress, and addressing issues found via testing, specifically supporting our Integrated Education efforts.

Employees in this role will work fully remote. Every department has different needs, and some positions will be designated
- office jobs, based on their function.

Responsibilities

1. Unit and integration test development using Scala Test
2. Active participation in
   - up meetings
3. Active participation in Peer Code Reviews as part of our standard SDLC and Change Management Process
4. Support clients through system integrations and production issues

Qualifications

1. Degree in Software Engineering
2. 10+ years of
   - based application development
3. Experience in Scala, Node. js or Java a plus
4. Demonstrated understanding of relational or No
   SQL database concepts and modeling practices
5. Passion for actively learning new technologies
6. Ability to work independently or as part of a group effort, as required
7. Solid
   - solving abilities
8. Collaborative approach to software development
