JOB SUMMARY
The Social Compliance Specialist collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure TJX mitigates business risks through its social compliance factory monitoring program. Communicates program requirements and expectations to associates, buying agents, and vendors. Supports the audit process for
- party audits. Visits vendors regularly to assess potential risks. Partners with vendors and suppliers to help remediate violations and develop solutions for key areas of risk. Collaborates with other Global Buying Offices Social Compliance Specialists and European Buyers, Sourcers, and Logistics Team, as needed.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Experience and knowledge of
- party factory audits. Understanding of audit reports and key areas of risk related to the industry, countries, wages, forced labor, child labor, working hours, health, and safety, etc. - Evaluates risk and makes recommendations based on balancing interests between the needs of the company and suppliers. Understands the
- price business model, as well as the importance of protecting the company from reputational risk. - Educates associates, agents, and vendors on program requirements and expectations.
- Supports the audit process to ensure required timelines are met. Requests
- accredited reports or schedules TJX
- party audits as required. Collaborates internally to ensure audits are received by vendors prior to orders. Ensures timely notification of expiring audit reports to applicable associates and suppliers. - Partners with third parties on the development of solutions for suppliers on key areas of risk. Makes recommendations to suppliers on strategies to gain compliance.
- Collaborates with GBO Social Compliance Specialists and HO Social Compliance Team.
- Supports European Buyers, Sourcers, and Logistics on Social Compliance related issues.
- Will be involved in business travel and vendor visits based on the Company's needs.
MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong interpersonal skills, strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficient knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish & English languages.
