Job overview:

In order to support the continuous growth of our business, we are looking to recruit a Senior Manager Projects R&D. Within a department of more than 50 R&D colleagues, you manage a team of 3 project managers. You help create and implement the right processes and templates for managing projects and support the project managers to meet the objectives of their projects. Besides managing and improving the team of project managers, you will manage a number of projects yourself. For these projects you are responsible for delivering projects within the set objectives, from a planning perspective as well as a quality and financial perspective. The development projects are different in scope and for both internal and external customers. We develop our projects with a mix of waterfall and/or agile processes.

In addition to managing some projects yourself, you are responsible for the overall portfolio management and alignment of projects that have an interdependency. You have regular contact with external and internal customers. Within this position, you report to the Managing Director of R&D. This job is based in our European headquarters in Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. Therefore, if you are interested, you are expected to relocate to the Netherlands.

Job criteria:

• 5 - 15 years of relevant experience as a project manager in a product development environment that includes software and machinery
• Experience with Agile product development
• Experience with international customers and managing & reporting their project portfolio
• Experience in managing multinational and multicultural teams
• Knowledge of project management tools (JIRA is a plus)
• Experience with project control and setting up project KPIs
• A drive to continuously improve & a positive mindset
• English at B2 level, or above. Other European languages such as Dutch, German, or French, are a plus
• Willingness to travel (with some regularity) to support international projects
• Affinity with the agricultural sector is a plus
