Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Portugal. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and delivering electrical systems for Infrastructure in mission critical Projects, a strong understanding of MEP requirements, and must be registered with the Ordem dos Engenheiros in Portugal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for mission critical projects, including low, medium, and
- voltage networks, UPS systems, generators, and lighting. - Design and oversee the development of substations and complex power distribution systems to ensure efficient and reliable energy supply for critical facilities.
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and detailed engineering analyses to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met within timeframes and budgets.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers to maintain
- quality deliverables. - Ensure compliance with Portuguese and international regulations, standards, and codes relevant to Infrastructure Projects.
- Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Registered member of Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portugal).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years specifically in mission critical projects.
- In-depth knowledge of low, medium, and
- voltage power systems, including backup power solutions and energy efficiency practices. - Proven experience in designing substations and managing complex electrical systems for critical facilities with high uptime requirements.
- Strong understanding of Portuguese building regulations and international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and EN.
- Proficiency in Auto
CAD, Revit MEP, and simulation tools for electrical systems. - Excellent project management,
- solving, and communication skills. - Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
Required Skills
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing infrastructure projects, ideally in a consulting or engineering environment.
- Proven expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure systems, construction practices, and local regulations in Portugal (or ability to quickly adapt).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e. g. , Primavera, MS Project) and budget management software.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and
- facing communication skills. - Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
