We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a team who wishes to improve the operability and performance of its Data-based services, based on several IT platforms: a data lake, a data mart, a data warehouse, a BI environment and Data Science.

These platforms, although mature and already operated in production, require the implementation of tools around orchestration issues in order to guarantee operational performance and coordination required by the level of service expected by the businesses.

Mission and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the data architect, the data experts and the product manager/owner, you will be involved in the operations and implementation of the technical roadmap of the platform orchestration, based on the Airflow product. Thus you will ensure the development and expert support of the functionalities of the platform itself, but also the Dev
Ops tools around the product whose priority is observability, performance management and continuous improvement of the service Orchestration.

Required Skills & Technological Environment:

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• AWS Cloud/Data Engineer
• Process orchestration: Airflow
• ETL/ELT principles: dbt
• Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology
• Knowledge of the data management ecosystem (Data Engineer profile)
• DEVOPS concepts
• Notions of observability of Information Systems
• Fluent in English
• Must be a Portuguese OR European citizen
• Must be willing to relocate to Portugal

Soft skills:

• Strength of proposal
• Autonomous
• Dynamism
• Federator / Communicator (would be a plus)

Knowledge of the following tools:

• Airflow (mandatory)
• AWS
• Snowflake
• dbt
• JIRA/Confluence
• Jenkins
• Gitlab
• Terraform
• Kubernetes/Containers
• Elasticsearch/Kibana (would be a plus)

Expected deliverables:

• Coding and production of DAGs in the product
• Unit test reports of implemented DAGs
• Contribute to the platform development proposal documents.
• Delivery implementation planning / roadmap via JIRA
• Documentation of development best practices in Confluence
• Updates to incident and request tickets in JIRA
• Support knowledge base (in Service
  Now and Confluence)
• Committee materials and minutes of meetings
