Overview / Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Big Data Tester to join our company in a banking based project.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in testing, automation, and data quality assurance.
• Strong expertise in the dbt framework, including building and optimizing automated test suites.
• Experience with data mapping, modeling, and
  -
  - end validation processes.
• Proficiency in exploratory, integration, and exception handling testing.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with developers, analysts, and end users.
• Familiarity with UAT/BAT processes and
  - deployment monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Implement Shift Left testing practices within the dbt ecosystem.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to data mapping and modeling sheets by collaborating closely with BAs, Data Modelers, and End Users.
• Understand technical project/release goals and
  - user needs to derive test coverage and scenarios.
• Collaborate with developers to build automated test suites within the dbt framework, including
  - in assertions and
  - developed test cases.
• Regularly review automated test suites to optimize test coverage, identify gaps/redundancies, and maintain requirements traceability to automated test cases.
• Execute test cases not covered by dbt test suites, including integration, negative/failover, and exception handling tests, as well as exploratory testing when needed.
• Ensure the delivery of
  - quality code by continuously validating and assuring automated test case designs and output validations.
• Provide feedback to developers on
  - running queries or inefficient transformations to optimize performance.
• Coordinate and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and BAT (Business Acceptance Testing) phases.
• Contribute to monitoring practices by suggesting metrics or threshold alerts based on user feedback
  - deployment, ensuring data quality in production.
• Support dbt and UAT implementation rollouts across multiple projects in the data estate, including:
  • Requirement analysis and reviewing data mapping, HLDs (High-Level Designs), and LLDs (Low-Level Designs) to identify gaps.
  • Developing test plans and approaches for efficient release delivery.
