About the role
- Our identity and access management (IAM) team, composed of 10 people, is integrated into the Digital Technology Security and Compliance Platform department and focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting the Identity and Access Management technologies and processes to secure and provide the right accesses to the right people at the right time with the best user experience, in collaboration with the Digital Technology department.
- As a Security System Engineer (Authentication), you will work on managing the activities of Directory, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-On (SSO) Services, in high collaboration with other IT teams and business stakeholders to support our internal customers. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the Group’s security accesses and compliance and have a positive impact on Solvay Security Transformation.
- You will be accountable for:
- Service Delivery and Performance: Oversee the delivery of the service, ensuring it meets
- upon performance standards and customer expectations. Monitor service performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics, identifying areas for improvement. - Incident and Change Management: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding the service. Serve as the escalation point for major incidents affecting the service. Approve and oversee changes to the service, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with change management best practices.
- Service Strategy and Design: Participate with the Architect and Engineer in the service lifecycle roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Participate in the creation and negotiation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate business and security risks associated with the service. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for service enhancement and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct regular service reviews and audits to ensure compliance with standards and policies.

About you
- Relevant education degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Relevant work experience of minimum:
- 6 years in IT, business, management operations, or related professional areas.
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, Ping Identity, or other federated identity providers.
- 5+ years of experience managing
- party and contract labor.
- Experience with Authentication tools (e. g. , Active Directory, Entra ID, Ping Identity, or other federated identity providers).
- Project management skills to plan and execute Identity-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools (e. g. , Power
Shell). - Identity and Access Management (IAM): Deep understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle management.
- Security Protocols: Knowledge of security protocols such as OAuth, SAML, Open
ID Connect, LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM. Cryptography: Familiarity with encryption methods and cryptographic protocols to secure authentication processes. - Behaviors:

About the pay and benefits
- Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Portugal base pay reasonably expected for this role is 37, 520 to 56, 100 EUR, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
