Room Service Attendant
Position Summary:
As a room service night waiter your main responsibilities will be:
- Preparing orders, set tables/trays and deliver items to guest rooms in an attentive and efficient manner, and ensuring to provide excellent quality service as per the Hotel standard operating procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness at work and guest areas by cleaning, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area
- Set up the breakfast buffet
- Preparing meeting room and
-
- places for any event that occurs at the Hotel - Preparing breakfast boxes for the early check outs.
General IRD waiter duties and responsibilities:
- Set tables, trays according to type of food ordered and the hotels service standards
- Performs opening and closing procedures established for the department
- Accurately records,
- checks and
- up all food and beverage orders - Ensure guests satisfaction with the meal
- Responsible for cleaning and removing the tables/trays from guest rooms and corridors
- Serves guests their food and beverage in prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence of service
- Present physical and accurate check to guest and complete the payment process
- To have a full knowledge of the food & beverage items & their specifications, menu prices, recipes and style of service etc.
- To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and also up sell alternatives.
- Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, chinaware, glassware, etc. , throughout the day.
- Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.
- Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
- Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty.
- Ensure to have minimum wastage and breakage.
- Ensure a good communication with between Kitchen and service team members.
- Being knowledgeable to operate the hotels point of sales (POS) system.
- Perform any other assigned reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned or as requested by Supervisors just like giving support to banqueting team.
- Monitor the expiry dates of the products sold in the section
Prerequisites:
- Should have excellent communication skills
- Speak with others using clear and professional language
- Be courteous, professional and provide efficient service
- Should have an up selling predisposition
- Have a good teamwork skills like communication, collaboration, great time management, be an effective problem solvers, be a good listener, have a positive approach all the time.
