OPAR Perfumes is an artisanal perfumery born in Lisbon, Portugal. In our labs customers with our perfumers create their personal fragrances, as unique as they are. Our specialty are niche fragrances that become a signature scents of our customers, blended on the spot. To support our growth in Portugal and abroad, we are looking for an experienced R&D specialist for our new factory and lab in Lisbon, Portugal.

Role Description

As a R&D Specialist, you will be responsible for the creation, development, and production of a variety of products, including personal fragrance, home fragrance and cosmetics. You will combine your deep knowledge of good manufacturing practices with your product development and laboratory skills to craft unique, small batch products for OPAR brand as well as B2B clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Development: develop proprietary formulation for a variety of products (focus on personal fragrance, home fragrance and bodycare), accordingly to the NPD brief
• Production: produce small batches of selected products, following GMP and ISO standards
• Inventory management: control raw materials inventory quality and quantity wise
• Research and Innovation: stay updated on industry trends, emerging ingredients. Experiment with new materials and technologies to develop brand's competencies in the NPD field.
• Formula Documentation: maintain detailed records of formulations and evaluations. Ensure accurate and organized documentation of all work to facilitate future reproductions and modifications.
• Quality Control: ensure that all fragrances meet the highest quality and safety standards, adhering to industry regulations.

Qualifications

• B. Sc. (from PT or other member from the EU) in Pharma, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine or Chemical Engineering, Cosmetics LL. B
• Experience in Product Development in the cosmetic industry
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting
• Independent and

• Passionate about cosmetic and fragrance industry
• Strong attention to detail and
  - solving skills
• Team player
• Previous experience in the personal care or fragrance industry is a must
• English and Portuguese language is a must have
