Job Description
We are recruiting an R&D Funding Coordinator to work on our Global Biosciences Center of Excellence in the Lisbon region.
The SGS Global Biosciences Center develops and guides the deployment of integrated services for a wide range of industries and sectors – with the focus of helping our clients in the challenges faced during their climate and ecological transition.
The R&D Funding Coordinator will be responsible for identifying public/private funding streams, generating concept notes, writing, reviewing and submitting proposals, monitoring project implementation, ensuring compliance with reporting criteria as required by the funding bodies.
The professional will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Contribute to the development of the SGS Global Biosciences Center funding strategy and for the identification and pursuit of new partnerships and funding opportunities;
- Identify relevant EU funding opportunities (tenders and grants), liaise with key partners and manage the preparation of partnerships and Horizon Europe grant proposal submissions (or other
- funded tenders or calls); - Identify key networking events to attend and raise awareness of work performed at the Center;
- Create, foster and maintain good relationships with partners and funding authorities;
- Manage the overall preparation, implementation and reporting of funded projects and ensure that work is delivered on time and at the highest standards;
- Liaise with colleagues at SGS to develop project ideas and proposals; coordinate researchers’ and partners’ contributions to projects; coordinate with SGS communication team for the dissemination of project results (e. g. publications, events);
- Coordinate with and support SGS financial department for sound budgeting and expenses recognition;
- Reports to the Head of the Global Biosciences Center.
Qualifications
We value a professional with the following profile:
- Master’s/Ph
D degree in Biological Sciences/Engineering/Environmental/Life Sciences; - Minimum 4 years working experience dealing with EU-funded projects with track record of participation in approved proposals (highly desirable);
- Sound knowledge of National and European funding priorities, existing programmes and tendering processes (highly desirable);
- Knowledge of contractual and financial rules applicable;
- Excellent planning skills, including
- making,
- solving, project management and risk assessment; - Excellent
- personal and communication skills and experience in working in multinational and multidisciplinary context; - Resilience and ability to cope with tight deadlines and a large portfolio of opportunities and projects;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Team player;
- Excellent communication skills in English: verbal and written.
