What is our client looking for?
Our client, a leader in the
- commerce and payment solutions space, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer – E-commerce to spearhead testing and validation efforts for custom
- commerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ensuring the performance, security, and integration of
- commerce platforms, particularly with payment systems. This role will focus on developing and executing comprehensive test strategies for platforms such as Woo
Commerce, Shopify, and Word
Press, optimising quality assurance processes, and leading security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards. A strong background in
- commerce platform architecture, security best practices, and backend integration testing is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee testing and validation efforts for custom
- commerce solutions, ensuring seamless functionality across platforms like Woo
Commerce, Shopify, Magento, and Word
Press. - Design and implement custom test strategies, including backend testing for PHP-based platforms and API integrations for payment systems.
- Test
- platform integrations between various
- commerce systems, ensuring smooth data flow and consistent functionality across platforms. - Conduct regular security audits and implement best practices to ensure
- commerce platforms meet PCI DSS and other security standards. - Collaborate with engineering teams to test and validate performance optimisation techniques for
- commerce platforms, including caching solutions,
- side improvements, and load testing. - Mentor junior QA engineers and provide guidance on
- specific testing strategies, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques. - Develop automated test scripts for repetitive tasks and integrations using testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and Appium.
- Provide detailed and actionable defect reports, including steps to reproduce, logs, and screenshots for debugging purposes.
- Work closely with design teams, content managers, and developers to ensure testing efforts align with business goals and deliver
- quality
- commerce solutions. - Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for custom platform tests, test cases, defect resolutions, and deployment procedures.
Who You Are:
- Experienced QA Engineer with a focus on
- commerce platforms, payment solutions, and custom plugin development. - Security-conscious with a strong understanding of PCI compliance and best practices for secure
- commerce testing. - Experienced in testing Word
Press, Woo
Commerce, Shopify, Magento, and other major
- commerce platforms. - Comfortable working with both manual and automated testing, including API testing and integration validation.
- Passionate about performance optimisation, ensuring scalable and
- performance
- commerce experiences. - A
- solver, adept at identifying and resolving complex platform and integration issues. - Strong communicator, fluent in English, capable of bridging technical and business conversations.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a
- functional development environment. - Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and stay current with industry trends in
- commerce and web technologies. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing automation tools (e. g. , Jenkins, Git
Lab CI). - Understanding of
- commerce security best practices, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. - Experience with load testing tools and techniques for
- traffic
- commerce environments. - Knowledge of payment gateway integrations (e. g. , Pay
Pal, Stripe) and underlying payment standards (ISO8583, PCI DSS). - Familiarity with responsive design testing and mobile optimisation for
- commerce platforms. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and
- commerce hosting solutions. - Background in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Knowledge of headless commerce and testing APIs for
- commerce integrations.
