Join the MIKUTA team at our Office in Guimarães! As we continued to grow, we are looking for a skilled and passionate knitwear Product Developer specialized in Tricot to support our PD Team.

The MIKUTA brand was founded in Berlin by Jacqueline Mikuta and Klemens White, starting in 2017 with a small jewellery line, which later expanded to clothing in 2019. MIKUTA is a young, wild &

Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal. We are currently working with Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Collection cycles and soon grow to a product portfolio of more than 300 products.

We are mainly producing our products in Portugal, while constantly growing our supplier network abroad as well. All manufacturers are an extension of the Brand and having a good relationship with them is as important to us as ensuring on time production deliveries to sustain the growth of MIKUTA.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Product Developer, your role is being the bridge between the Creative Team and the Suppliers, helping to bring the designs to life. Your main focus would be overseeing the knitwear collections within each season.

Together with the rest of the Team you will be working on future Collections and communicate daily with Portuguese and International Suppliers, making sure the entire process goes smoothly in every stage of the development and the collections are ready in time for the upcoming season.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sample Development: You'll be responsible for communicating style changes, limitations and other information that is crucial to develop the products.
2. Accessories and Trims: Responsible to check all trims and labels regarding the styles you are responsible for.
3. Updating the PLM system: Keep track and update the system considering the product stage and changes during product development, together with the design team, will be one of the most important tools on your daily work.
4. Shipping and collecting samples: One of your daily tasks will be to prepare shipments and ensure a fast and smooth process.
5. Supply Chain Coordination: You'll be the bridge between our Berlin studio and our supply chain in Portugal, making sure communication flows smoothly for efficient product development.
6. Quality Assurance: You'll oversee samples and check if all our requirements were fulfilled before sending to our Berlin Studio.
7. Collaboration: Working closely with our customer service team to address any
   - related issues.
8. Technical Expertise: Utilizing your expertise in knitting techniques, yarn qualities and technical specifications, washes, prints and jacquards to make the sampling process go seamlessly.

ABOUT YOU

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Product Development or a related field.
• Skills: Understanding the dynamic of fashion cycles and how products are developed.
• Experienced with knitting machinery, techniques and yarn properties.
• Very good knowledge of English and confident use of IT – PLM, Adobe Illustrator and MS Office.
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience in product development in knitwear/tricot, or commercial background.
• Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with different teams and suppliers.
• Independent: Being able to make decisions according to the brand standards and design guidance.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering
  - quality products.
• Passion: A genuine passion for fashion, trends, and a deep understanding of brand identity.
• Flexibility: High flexibility and willingness to travel, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team.
