Job Description
The Power Plant Manager’s role is to ensure the safe and secure operation of our assets, which include photovoltaic parks and battery storage systems, in order to achieve maximum technical and financial performance throughout the lifespan of the concerned plants.
Missions :
- HSSE
- Lead and supervise all operational activities in compliance with the group’s Golden Safety Rules, the regulatory framework, and environmental regulations.
- In collaboration with the HSSE department, participate in the implementation of robust and clear safety procedures.
- Monitor the progress of the Prevention Plan and the evolution of procedures.
- Monitor the training and certification of your subcontractors.
- Operations Management
- Oversee and manage the daily operation and the energy forecast of assets, including the billing of energy produced.
- Contribute to the development of strategies aimed at improving plant performance.
- Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contract and Stakeholder Management
- Ensure the proper execution of contracts related to operations, including maintenance, service, supply, and subcontractor contracts.
- Manage the guarantees and claims processes with the subcontractors.
- Manage and track incidents.
- Participate in meetings with local authorities, partners, and local communities to maintain positive relationships and support project development.
- Manage and comply with the national and local entities all the regulation and legislation.
- Manage relationships with the insurance teams (reporting claims, tracking claims processing, communication with relevant parties).
- Performance Management
- Monitor key performance indicators related to the plants under your responsibility:
• Analyze operational data/KPIs and identify trends and discrepancies from objectives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement measures to ensure the achievement of objectives. - Ensure proper completion of performance and operational reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to the plants under your responsibility:
- Various Activities
- Participate in the deployment of new tools to improve team performance.
- Support the 24/7 monitoring service and incidents management for our plants.
- Manage the operation handover process:
- Before energization with a technical follow up.
- During the partial commissioning.
- Documental handover.
- Provide support to projects before the operational phase: defining scopes and prices for plant operation contracts, defining OPEX.
Qualifications
- Engineer by training, ideally with more than 2 years of experience in the field of renewable energy operations, and with a background in maintenance or operation.
- Be curious in technical, contractual, and financial challenges of the assets in your area to make appropriate decisions and request the intervention of Akuo services or relevant third parties.
- Perfect command of Microsoft Excel, able to create complex tables and manage detailed reporting.
Languages: Portuguese and fluency in English: part of the work will be conducted in English (international teams) and you'll have meetings/calls with people who don't speak Portuguese.
Personal skills :
- Be curious in technology related to renewables energy.
- Demonstrate foresight, prioritization, and adaptability.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to manage remote relationships and work across different time zones.
