The Role

The payroll team is responsible for managing the
-
- end payroll operation for the UK, Ireland, Malta, Portugal, Ceuta, India and Spain, ensuring that each stage of the payroll process is actioned properly and all employees are paid correctly. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will work together with the payroll team to manage the
-
- end payroll cycle for Portugal.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Support Payroll team in administration of
   -
   - end payroll using the system implemented by the Company. Ensure any other input/upload data relating to employee's payments & deductions into the payroll database in line with the payroll timetable and processing checklist.
2. Ensure that correct payments, reports and returns are made to tax authorities and social security and other statutory bodies.
3. Support in carrying out pay period and year end processes essential for statutory and other returns.
4. Deal with enquiries from employees and external contacts.
5. Prepare information from the payroll as required by other areas of the business to an agree timeline.
6. Build relationships with key business areas.
7. Identify ways to reduce errors and improve processes.
8. Provide payroll cover when other team members are absent.
9. Conduct regular checks to ensure the integrity of the payroll database, updating data as necessary and ensuring that the payroll database is working properly and that problems are identified to the Payroll Manager.
10. Keeping abreast of changes in employment legislation.
11. Participate in any projects to develop the payroll processes and database, taking a lead on identifying improvements and playing a key role in implementing any resultant changes.
12. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role, as required by the Payroll Manager.
