The Product Manager for My
SQL is responsible for the inbound and outbound product management efforts. Working closely with engineering teams, the goal is to further My
SQL adoption as well as Percona’s continued commercial success as a leader in the My
SQL space.

You will collaborate with customers, partners, other product managers and tech leads at Percona, translating the product vision into a compelling strategy and roadmap that engineering can feasibly implement. You will balance time and scope to ensure that we are delivering value to Percona’s customers and community.

What You Will Do

1. Establish the My
   SQL product strategy so that it complements the overall corporate and product vision.
2. Translate this strategy into
   -
   - consume roadmaps to bring a product to life.
3. Identify product and market opportunities through customer, community, and stakeholder interactions, e. g. , conducting surveys or contacting existing customers directly to understand exactly what they are looking for.
4. Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure alignment of our tactical plans with the strategic vision, providing complementary product support in a timely manner.
5. Build and own the relationships with Services, Community, and Engineering.
6. Explore new ways of improving our existing services and products.

What You Have Done

1. Developed a strong understanding of My
   SQL or other
   - source databases and an eagerness to bring that experience to improving Percona’s OSS and commercial offerings.
2. Product management with enterprise IT software, including experience shipping products.
3. Demonstrated a strong understanding of customers’ business challenges and needs and how those translate to products that delight the customer.
4. Proven technical background in software development or operations.
5. Experience in working with
   - departmental stakeholders to successfully develop and deliver software products and solutions.
6. Ability to lead without requiring authority to be given first, breaking down barriers and driving improvement across functions.
7. Excellent work ethic,
   - motivated and
   - managed, strong organizational skills & ability to meet deadlines.
8. Language skills: English fluently, additional languages appreciated.
9. Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, including public speaking skills.
10. Willing to travel occasionally on business (as travel conditions permit).
11. Depending on your home time zone, willingness to adjust your working schedule on occasion to accommodate video calls with customers in different countries.

2. Experience working with Open Source Communities as an active member who is involved with various
   - source projects.
3. Excellent stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
