Offer Description
The University of Minho (UM) opens a call for the attribution of 1 master student research fellowship, reference no INCLUSIVE_2025_01, in the area of Sociology, under the Research Fellowship Statute (EBI) and the University of Minho Regulation of Scientific Research Fellowships (RBIC).
Funding: The Fellowship will be funded by the EC and Erasmus+, under the scope of the “INCLUSIVE-UNI: Promoting Inclusive Campuses for Equity and Diversity” Project, reference no. 2024-1-TR01-KA220-HED-000254836.
The master student research fellowships are meant for enrolled candidates or candidates who may prove to have the necessary conditions to enrol in a Master Program.
Requirements for Granting the Fellowship
- Candidates may apply without prior registration in the course for which the scholarship is open. The requirement to enrol in a degree course or
- granting course will be verified on the date of contracting the fellowship. - For contractual purposes, only selected candidates who present valid proof of enrollment in the degree course or
- degree course, according to the type of scholarship in the call for application, will be accepted.
The research activities will be carried out in the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, under the scientific supervision of Professor Emília Araújo.
Goals and Work Plan
The fellowship holder will carry out activities in support of the organization and
- scientific development of the project, namely:
- Collecting and analysing documentary information;
- Systematising information and preparing reports;
- Participation in transnational meetings and presentation of data analyses;
- Transcribing and analysing interviews;
- Application of questionnaire surveys and data analysis.

- mail to cecs_candidaturas@ics. uminho. pt, indicating the call reference in the email subject “INCLUSIVE_2025_01”. Applications sent by other means or extemporaneously will not be accepted.
Applicants Admissibility Requirements
- Hold a Degree in Sociology.
Preferential Requirements
- Experience in documentary and bibliographical research and the use of appropriate software to build and manage databases;
- Experience in collecting and analysing information, including through observation;
- Experience in research and intervention projects;
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
Additional Information
The fellowship will take place for 5 months.
Monthly Maintenance Allowance: The value stipend is 990, 98€ per month.
Benefits: Reimbursement of Voluntary Social Security (Social Security contributions) and personal accident insurance.
Exclusivity regime: The grantee will perform the activities under exclusivity.
Selection Process
The application assessment will focus on the Candidate's Merit (MC), taking into account several subcriteria.
- a. Academic trajectory: 30 points;
- b. Personal and professional curriculum: 50 points;
The selected candidate must inform their willingness to accept the grant, in writing. In case of rejection, the fellowship will be awarded to the next candidate in the ordered list of applicants.
Publication of Results
The final results of the evaluation will be publicized through a list sorted by the final grade obtained, posted in a visible and public place of the host institution, as well as by email to all candidates.
Complaint and Appeal Procedures
After the notification, applicants have a period of 10 working days to produce their arguments at a prior hearing of interested parties.
