The opportunity

Our ACR tax service line operates as a team of highly experienced finance and tax professionals who focus on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the country. Our goal is to improve quality, manage risk, create efficiency and drive value. You will have the opportunity to provide clients an integrated, consistent, quality service that unlocks the potential of the compliance function, with tax compliance, statutory accounts preparation and tax accounting calculation support.

As part of EY, you will be responsible for leading a team providing
- quality finance and tax services to clients across a range of industries. You will also lead a team looking after service delivery, coordination, issue resolution, and contract management of
- scale projects.

Your key responsibilities

1. Support client engagements by coordinating with clients and internal team members, managing deadlines, and tracking engagement economics.
2. Assist clients in their financial digital processes (e. g. , preparation and interpretation of
   - end closings, audit assistance, financial statements, etc. ), tax compliance (corporate tax returns and VAT returns, etc. ), general accounting, credit control, and internal optimization projects.
3. Manage client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, put in place standardized processes, anticipate and identify risks, resolve or escalate issues as appropriate, and drive
   - improvement solutions.
4. Generate new business opportunities, build client networks, and grow our ACR client base in the region by driving marketing and business development initiatives.
5. Create, lead, and motivate
   - performing teams and build a positive learning culture, coaching and counseling team members to help them develop.
6. Manage engagement economics and communicate significant issues, fees, and
   -
   - complete to partners and clients.
7. Ensure adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

Skills and attributes for success

If you are an excellent communicator and
- oriented professional with a strong track record of management experience who is comfortable working across borders with a wide network of people and large amounts of data, you will be perfect for the role.

To qualify for the role you must have

1. Academic Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance or similar financial fields of studies.
2. Over 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.
3. Extensive and
   - depth knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards, relevant tax rules, procedures, and guidelines.
4. Practical experience of regulatory topics including Prudential Reporting, Structural Reform, new accounting and compliance innovation, and/or Business audit skills.
5. Strong knowledge about SNC and NCRF.
6. Good knowledge about international requirements: IAS, IFRS.
7. Experience in ERP SAP, Navision, Primavera or another similar.
8. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
9. Availability to work in Portugal and abroad.

Ideally, you also have

1. Experience of dealing with multinational clients and ability to work in a
   - cultural environment.
2. Experience and knowledge of tax compliance, financial reporting, and ERP systems such as SAP, Business Central.
3. Ability to win in the market, good negotiation skills, and ability to work under challenging situations.
4. Demonstrated good understanding and capability of implementing accounting concepts.
