Maintenance Leader
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Coordinator for Coloplast Manufacturing Portugal (CMPT), who will be responsible for maintaining the good conditions of all the production technical equipment. This position requires strong technical skills (electronic, electromechanics, PLC, HMI), understanding maintenance principles and best practices, process improvements, problem solving, excellent analytical skills, good communication skills, and the ability to lead a team.
The position will have a natural evolution as in the initial phase there will be no equipment, machines, plant, or team to manage.
Your challenge – Start-up phase of the organization
- Learn all the relevant processes related to maintenance of the production
- Capture and learn about all the types of technologies to be used in CMPT
- Help in the definition and documentation of all the maintenance processes, with special focus on fulfillment of preventive maintenance plan, data records, KPIs, and reporting
- Work closely with NYI site to facilitate knowledge transfer, preparing and assuring the correct training of the team members (maintenance technicians)
- Ramp up the maintenance team
- Define all the preventive maintenance plans, with the support of the NYI site, commissioning team, and machine suppliers
- Support the machines installation, working closely with
- up teams and global support teams - Support the validation tasks concerning maintenance documentation
After startup, the following areas of accountability will be added:
Your challenge – Evolution of the role
- Ensure the continuous operation of the machines detecting faults and solving them quickly and professionally
- Own the technical parameters of the machines and make the necessary adjustments based on quality feedback
- Orient the team to perform product and tools changes and create processes to optimize these changes
- Manage the maintenance technicians, managing the daily technical tasks, assuring the correct level of technical skills of the team members as well as the correct level of
- solving expertise and capability in the 3 shifts - Monitor the results of the Value Stream and maintenance KPIs, promoting the necessary actions for improvement
- Responsible for articulation with production and supply chain for the planning and fulfillment of the preventive maintenance activities
- Support the shop floor teams on problem solving and failure identification, involving corporate functions and/or suppliers when needed
- Actively participate in the machine’s management to meet the required levels of Safety, Quality, Output, and Cost
- Support validation tasks related to maintenance activities
- Overview the Non-Conformities and CAPA and ensure their ownership by the Production Support Engineers
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the Production processes
- Willing to provide support
- hours when a problem is escalated - Create and/or review documents in the document control system (Veeva)
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Engineering (B. Sc. or higher)
- Knowledge of maintenance organization and relevant KPIs
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance area, in a leadership position
- Ability to support high volume manufacturing operations
- Extensive knowledge of relevant software applications (e. g. , MS Office, Power BI)
- High level proficiency in oral and written English
- Good communication skills and ability to lead a team
Preferred qualifications
- International experience or experience working with multinational companies
- Experience from medical devices or pharmaceutical businesses
- Experience with Oracle E1
- Certification in continuous improvement methodologies
Other job requirements
- During
- up phase, travel can be up to 140 days per year - After
- up finished, travel up to 30 days/year
