The Role
The Legal Counsel specializing in HR and Contracts plays a critical role in supporting the company’s legal and compliance initiatives. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive legal advice and support on a wide range of HR and contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Law and Compliance:
- Advise on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, termination, performance management, and employee relations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international labor laws.
- Manage employee contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements.
- Provide guidance on employee benefits, compensation, and equity.
- Contract Negotiation and Drafting:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and commercial contracts.
- Ensure that all contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with HR and contractual matters.
- Conduct regular legal audits and compliance reviews.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay

- date on evolving legal and regulatory changes in the cannabis industry. - Ensure compliance with EU-GMP standards and other relevant regulations.
- Provide guidance on regulatory issues related to HR and contracts.

Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Experience in employment law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of EU labor law and regulations.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
