Lead Bartender
The Duro De Matar Lead Bartender will maintain the existing bar program, under the guidance of the General Manager, aid in the development of the bar program’s forthcoming phases, as well as help train new bartenders and barbacks in all technical aspects of bar operation. The Lead Bartender will also assist the manager in inventory management, organization, cleaning schedule and checklist maintenance. The Lead bartender will be in charge of maintaining batching consistency and par upkeep. The Lead Bartender is expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards, values and balancing responsibilities in a busy, fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
SERVICE LEADERSHIP
- Uphold service and beverage standards during shifts to lead by example
- Oversee prep consistency and planning for the bar program.
- Train new bar team on all new cocktails and ensure beverage standards are met.
- Create educational opportunities for the staff with regards to cocktail and liquor knowledge.
- Coach fellow team members during shifts to maintain standards; communicate deficiencies to management for follow up
- Oversee and guide guest’s complete dining and bar experience
- Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
- Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish/drink; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service
- Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
- Uphold Duro De Matar standards of quality when assembling alcoholic beverages for guests
- Responsibly serve alcoholic beverages
- Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
- Maintain the cleanliness of bar tools and bar areas
- Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessary
- Support team with beverage service to all dining room areas
- Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
- Stocking and preparing bar service related items
- Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of bartending experience in a
- volume environment - 1+ years supervisory experience a plus
- Strong beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
- Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
- Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
