About the role:

Aptean is a fast growing yet
- established global software company. We are expanding our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean’s continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a fully qualified accountant, with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a
- paced environment with a global outlook. Duties will involve all aspects of financial and management accounts.

What you will do:

• Manage a team of 2-3 accountants.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs.
• Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed, and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner.
• Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments.
• Work collaboratively with the overseas Shared Service Centre, liaising with them regarding the delivery of their Accounting and AP responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements.
• Support with Group Statutory audits.
• Be a main point of contact for specific local statutory audits within the European territory.
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making.
• Be a key player with Group acquisition integration, ensuring a smooth implementation of local and European acquisitions within the GL account process.
• Proactively enhance process improvements to provide more accurate and timely data for reporting purposes.

About you:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the financial accounting area.
• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualification. Preferably 2 years + post qualified experience.
• Previous management accounts experience, including posting of journals and responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Able to organise and prioritise own workload to meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Adaptable individual with a flexible and positive mindset.
• Strong teamwork ethic.
