Project Summary and Work Plan
This project aims at the design, technical development, prototyping, and final validation of an innovative solution for the regular monitoring of health and
- being data of individuals. In particular, it intends to develop a technological platform for detecting and monitoring diseases and tracking health and
- being conditions. Data monitoring will be carried out using imaging, video, an electronic nose for volatile compounds, molecular assessment, and an analysis module that provides useful information for the user's health through multimodal signal analysis supported by machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques.
The hired individual will be integrated into a consortium of companies developing the ILLIANCE Agenda of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), aiming at addressing the goal of carbon neutrality in the building sector. The approach focuses on developing technologies associated with three core pillars: health, comfort, and sustainability.
Continuous monitoring is essential for implementing this paradigm. The work plan will include identifying, validating, and discovering molecular markers that can be incorporated into disease monitoring panels. The hired researcher is expected to organize and execute the project activities related to the construction of cohorts for marker validation and prototype testing.
Obligatory Requirements
- Ph. D. in Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or similar fields. If the degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018.
- Highly motivated candidates with specific experience in molecular oncobiology.
- Proven solid experience in recruiting and monitoring cohorts of cancer patients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the molecular causes of cancer and their clinicopathological correlations.
- Track record of relevant publications in the field of cancer biomarkers.
- Proven oral and written communication skills in research derived from data.
- Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Immediate availability to start the contract.
