Job Description

United Lisbon is seeking a dedicated and experienced IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI) SL Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mathematics education and skilled in delivering the IB Mathematics AI SL curriculum while fostering critical thinking and
- solving skills among students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons for IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI) SL, ensuring alignment with IB curriculum guidelines.
• Prepare students for Internal Assessments (Exploration) and external IB exams (Paper 1 and Paper 2), following IB assessment criteria.
• Utilize technology and mathematical tools (e. g. , graphing calculators, Desmos, Geo
  Gebra, Question bank, or other relevant software) to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Develop and implement formative and summative assessments, including mock exams and IB-aligned practice opportunities, to track and support student progress.
• Support students’ academic and personal development by serving as a mentor or advisor.
• Teach High School mathematics (Grades 9-10 Common Core) as part of the role.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Mathematics Department to ensure a coherent and
  - structured curriculum.
• A strong preference will be given to candidates who can also teach IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) SL or HL.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification and relevant qualifications for IB Mathematics.
• Familiarity with IB assessment criteria, internal and external assessments, and interdisciplinary learning.
• Strong technological skills and experience using digital tools for mathematical modeling and instruction.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience teaching IB English B HL & SL in an IB-accredited school is highly preferred.
• Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and encourages a love for learning.
