Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting

Location: London, Colchester, York, or Lisbon – Hybrid working – average 2-3 days in the office

Qualified accountant with Financial Services or preferably, Insurance experience and, Solvency II and IFRS knowledge.

This will be of the utmost importance as the Group evolves under a new leadership team whilst Hiscox embeds and optimises IFRS 17 reporting.

You will focus on servicing the Group level financial reporting requirements and form close working relationships with the wider Finance team, as well as the Finance Directors and Controllers across the Hiscox business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of
  - quality Group consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, statutory, and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with IFRS and Solvency II regulatory guidance.
• Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group reporting activities and the broader financial control framework.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Streamline, automate, and enhance finance processes, by leveraging technology enablers, personal experience, external insights, and best practice.
• Support the development of a continuous improvement culture utilising external insights and best practice.
• Actively support both Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role.
• Support a culture of excellence across the wider Financial Control team.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
• Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector (preferably the insurance sector).
• Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results.
• Hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong control mindset and experience.
• A pragmatic decision maker.
• Enthusiastic, curious with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Reporting Relationships/Interactions:

• Reports to the Head of Group Reporting.
• Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including Business Unit finance teams and external auditors.
