The Research & Development (R&D) business unit leads the technology development of our wind turbine products. We are responsible for its development, verification, and industrialization. It is here that we lay the technological foundation for securing our role as the global leader in sustainable energy.

The Generator submodule consists of highly skilled employees, situated at our main locations in Denmark, Germany, and Portugal. The department is accountable for the Generator submodule, converting the mechanical energy from the wind turbine rotor and drivetrain into raw electrical power. Within this evolving and complex environment, we have an opening for a Generator Engineer.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the development of solutions for the Generator product, following Vestas's project framework and Stage-/Gate models. Your responsibilities will also extend to the Brake system and to the Turner gears. You will work with advanced tools such as CREO, Windchill, and Jira. All these activities, in collaboration with technical experts and project managers. The main activities under this responsibility will include:

• Product development: from requirements and early concept to detailed design and verification
• Product maintenance, incl. implementation of improvements and/or
  - out opportunities
• Stakeholder management, involving external suppliers - globally
• Planning of own work in Jira

Qualifications

• M. Sc. /B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• +2 years in the field of product development (beneficial within drive technology)
• Experienced in managing complex problems in global project organizations
• Fluent English language skills (speaking and writing) are required
• Knowledge of
  - sigma tools, e. g. , DFMEA
• Work experience within global matrix organizations or within the wind industry is valuable
• A solid technical understanding and can communicate your thoughts and ideas well, to the teams
• You are engaged, enduring,
  - oriented, and have a good sense of responsibility
• You can plan your own work and motivate members of the team
• You have the ability with stakeholder management
• You acknowledge the importance of business processes, incl. engineering change management
