General Manager – Pre-Opening & Operations
About the Role: A European Real Estate and Hospitality organization active in Greece, Belgium, Portugal, and Milan, owning boutique hotels, is seeking a General Manager to lead the
- opening and operations of its boutique hotel in Porto.
This role requires close collaboration with the organization’s owners and leadership team. The ideal candidate will shape the hotel's identity, define supplier partnerships, oversee
- opening logistics, and ensure a seamless operational launch. A luxury hospitality background, strategic mindset, and passion for exceptional guest experiences are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening & Concept Development:
- Identify and select key suppliers, service providers, and strategic partners (FF&E, OS&E, F&B, spa, and amenities).
- Develop the service philosophy and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect a
- class guest experience.
Operational Setup & Compliance:
- Oversee the selection and implementation of PMS, channel managers, reputation management, and revenue systems.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, operating licenses, and municipal requirements.
- Monitor the procurement and delivery of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) and operating supplies (OS&E).
Human Resources & Team Building:
- Lead the recruitment of key positions, including department heads and frontline staff.
- Design and implement training programs to uphold luxury service standards.
- Foster a
- performance culture focused on excellence, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Sales, Marketing & PR Strategy:
- Develop and execute
- opening marketing strategies, including collaborations with PR agencies, media, influencers, and luxury travel advisors. - Develop partnerships with local businesses and cultural institutions to elevate brand presence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in luxury hospitality management.
- Knowledge of hotel licensing, compliance, and regulatory requirements in Porto.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and
- solving skills. - Fluent in English and Portuguese (additional languages are a plus).
