Full-Stack Technical Lead (Remote)
Location: Remote (UK Business Hours)
Job Type: Freelance / Contract
Duration: Initial 6-7 months (to Sept), anticipated
- term / renewal
Rate: £3000-5000 GBP per month retainer based on experience
Languages: Fluency in English, both verbally & in writing, is mandatory.
About the Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Technical Lead to drive software development for a complex
- funded greenfield Saa
S solution. Expected to be a multi-year endeavour from MVP to
- complete. If successful, it will enable use cases relating to KBs & knowledge sharing, data science &
- driven work planning, collaboration & client management.
You will help plan and manage technical direction by working with product, design, architecture & delivery leadership and a team of engineers. We’re a small team, so you’ll be involved in design & implementation
-
- end of a rich SPA web client, complex backing services & APIs, and all the plumbing to bring a product to life.
You will probably get to tackle topics like:
- Real-time messaging & notifications and CMS/DAMs/DBs featuresets & services.
- Third party data, data science & lake workflows & platform integrations.
- Single,
- tenant and
- tenant standards compliant solution design & delivery. - And you’ll be both supported and afforded a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the full team to refine features that will deliver seamless user experiences according to
- defined requirements. - Lead and mentor your
- stack team of engineers, ensuring best practices & standards in architecture, coding & Dev
Ops are well defined and met. - When appropriate, lead by example and get
- on by architecting, developing, and optimising solutions using appropriate technologies. - Stay up to date with the latest industry trends & technological advancements, so you can bring your informed opinion & insights to bear to ensure a high quality outcome that all can enjoy implementing and be proud of.
Requirements
- 7+ years of
- stack development experience in a commercial setting. - Previous technical leadership or technical management experience.
- Able & willing to work to UK timezone / hours.
- Fluent in English, both verbally & in writing.
Suitable Applicants will have expertise in:
- SPA engineering using Typescript, particularly using React framework, judiciously choosing accompanying libraries and technologies.
- Backend services & API engineering, particularly using typed Node. js based frameworks like Payload
CMS. - Big 3 cloud platform services & solutions, particularly AWS (such as Aurora / RDS, Dynamo
DB, Lambda, S3, Cloud
Watch, ECS / EKS, Cognito, Cloud
Front, VPCs and so on). - Evaluating & integrating Saa
S & Paa
S to complete solutions (e. g. for Id
Ps, security, monitoring, logging & alerting, analytics & data science workflows). - Modern Dev
Ops principles & practices (such as git
Ops / CI/CD using Github Actions or similar, Ia
C, SAST & Pa
C) and technologies (such as Pulumi, Terraform/CDKTF, Docker & Kubernetes). - Identifying and applying application & infrastructure best practices relating to security, availability & cost optimisation concerns (such as OWASP top 10, GDPR, PII & ISO27001,
- availability & fault tolerance, scaling & orchestration).
