Offer Description

In accordance with Article 39 of the University Academic Career Statute, the Director of the NOVA School of Science and Technology announces that an international recruitment process for one Full Professor position is open for 30 working days from the publication of this Notice in the Official Gazette, in the subject area of Life Sciences, with an emphasis on Human Molecular Genetics – Biomedicine and Oncobiology, within the Department of Life Sciences.

I – Admission requirements and reasons for excluding candidates

1. Meet the general admission requirements for recruitment to public office.
2. Holder of a Doctorate degree for over five years.
3. Holder of the Academic Title of Agrégation.
4. Proficiency in spoken and written English.

II – Other requirements

1. Experience in coordination tasks in Study Cycles in the area of competition will be valued.
2. Experience in technology transfer and creation of technological companies within the competition area is valued.
3. Demonstrate alignment and framework of research in the Department of Life Sciences and the Unit of Applied Molecular Biosciences (UCBIO) and the Associated Laboratory i4HB.

III – Application form

3. The application must be submitted digitally and in duplicate (2 Pen Drives), containing copies in
   - editable electronic format (PDF) of the following documents:
1. The candidate’s Curriculum Vitae, including teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and university management activities relevant to this recruitment process.
2. A certificate attesting to a Doctorate degree obtained over five years ago.
3. Certificate proving the Academic Title of Agrégation.
4. Published works mentioned in the Curriculum Vitae.
5. Research and Pedagogical Statement that the candidate proposes to adopt in the future.
6. A sworn statement regarding the submission of scientific documentation if requested.
7. A sworn statement confirming the ability to teach in English.

IV - Submission of application

1. The application documents must be submitted no later than the 30th working day following the publication of this Notice.
2. Documents must be submitted in digital format (Pen Drive), by post or in person, to the Human Resources Division of NOVA FCT, located at Campus de Caparica, 2829-516 Caparica, Portugal.

V - Public hearings and requests for further documentation

1. The Selection Panel decides whether public hearings of the candidates are necessary.
2. If necessary, public hearings will take place between the 30th and 70th day after the application deadline.

VI - Duties of University Academic Staff

1. Activities involving scientific research, cultural or artistic creation, or technological development.
2. Teaching services and supervising students.
3. Participating in university outreach tasks and management.

VII – Requirements for admission and exclusion based on absolute merit of candidates

1. The selection panel will decide on the admissibility of candidates based on absolute merit.

VIII - Notifications and Hearing of Interested Parties

1. All candidates will be notified of the provisional decision of the selection panel.
