We are seeking a Financial Controller who will report directly to the CFO. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects, including reporting, budgeting, compliance, and shareholder communications. This position is pivotal to maintaining accurate financial oversight and contributing to strategic
- making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data and reports.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure compliance with local (SNC) and international (IFRS) accounting standards.
• Supervise VAT, corporate tax returns, and statutory filings in line with Portuguese tax regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a clean audit report and adherence to audit requirements.

Shareholder Reporting & Communication:

• Prepare and present financial reports to shareholders, ensuring clarity, transparency, and precision.
• Provide regular updates on financial performance, positioning, and forecasts.
• Address any shareholder inquiries related to financial data and offer clear, comprehensive explanations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for shareholders on financial matters.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Develop rolling forecasts with insights and variance analysis against actual results.
• Evaluate financial performance and recommend strategies to boost profitability and operational efficiency.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Implement and monitor internal control processes to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, labor laws, and other regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and stay current with changes in financial and tax legislation in Portugal.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

• Oversee cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet financial obligations.
• Optimize working capital and work with banks for credit management.

Financial Strategy & Business Support:

• Provide financial guidance to senior management, supporting strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial objectives with operational goals.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, proposing action plans as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in English.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• Problem-solving and solution focus.
• Planning and organization skills.
