Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization.
As the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
• Management: Lead the Finance function and be responsible for all aspects of accounting, including the full business accounting cycle – booking accounting entries within the company’s general ledger, reconciling cash flows, preparation of month end reporting with associated control and reconciliation (including intercompany positions with subsidiary positions), and
- end financial reporting.
• Financial Planning & Compliance: Prepare the annual budget for Group Finance related to the Portugal servicer, articulate key drivers of future business growth, and handle regulatory reporting while ensuring adherence to local requirements for financial control and compliance.
• Reporting: Manage tax reporting in collaboration with
- party tax advisors and oversee the preparation of Portugal financial statements.
• Process Improvement & Adaptability: Drive enhancements in finance processes, take ownership of daily financial operations, and address ad hoc projects or tasks to support the business.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Report to the MD and collaborate with our key Finance Group functions, internal and external stakeholders to align financial reporting with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be qualified accountants.
- Experience: minimum 5 years financial reporting experience either in core or operational Finance, preferably in the banking or financial services industry. Experience in a loan servicing business would be beneficial. Knowledge of consumer finance industry and awareness of operations of Link.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in Excel (financial reporting and data management) and the Microsoft suite.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills in Portuguese and English.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, or related fields.
- Organisation: Strong multitasking abilities with a
- oriented mindset. Ability to create both proactive and reactive procedures to cover all aspects of their area of responsibility.
