The BCA EU business is now at an exciting turning point in their ambitions for how data can enhance their customer proposition. This role is part of a significant investment in strengthen the Decision Intelligence capability in the EU business, through a continuous development and maintenance of the Data Warehouse, expanding our use of Data Science & Machine learning solutions, developing new dashboards and fostering the adoption of these tools by the business users, promoting efficiencies and generating added value.
Role Accountabilities:
The MLOps Engineer is an exciting role within the EU BCA Decision Intelligence team. The engineer is responsible for configuring and managing the data and ML systems that are used by the Decision Intelligence team. Examples of work include:
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of a Machine Learning Platform on the cloud using ML Services like (MLFlow, Azure ML) and Infrastructure as Code.
- Help data scientists and engineers deploy models to production in a frictionless way.
- Support the data integration steps for ML modelling.
- Develop logging, monitoring of ML and Data systems for infrastructure performance, track model drift, data pipeline performance, etc.
- Maintain and monitor ML model endpoints, tracking their usage and performance, while reporting any issues to ensure continuous and reliable service, and ensuring security.
- Create and manage repositories in Dev
Ops, adhering to best practices, and ensuring the integration of unit tests,
- left testing, and other quality assurance measures. - Assist the data science team in creating and managing virtual environments, ensuring proper packaging, version control, and dependency management.
- Design and manage automated pipelines within Dev
Ops for data science purposes, including tasks such as model retraining. - Setup Databricks Workspace with proper User Roles, Unity Catalog and Storage Mounts.
- Proactive identification of new opportunities to leverage data for business advantage in the several business functions
- Work with the BCA reporting team to create simple to understand reporting dashboards to enable effective operations usage of analytical outputs
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the sprint to meet the planned deliverables.
- Development and maintenance of our automated model training and publishing pipeline.
- Building and maintaining data integration, data science, analytics & reporting systems environments in Azure (Dev/UAT/Production versions).
- Aligning with BCA’s Cloud Architecture teams on approach and corporate standards.
- Work with BCA’s IT security team to develop and maintain appropriate security controls for BCA’s data environment and running penetration tests.
- Act on historical metrics and review the scalability and security for the workloads.
- Building contingency plans and testing them.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in developing & deploying Containerized workloads, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in developing serverless microservices on the cloud using Azure functions or AWS lambda, API Management gateway.
- Experience in using Jenkins/ Azure Dev
Ops or another equivalent automation tool in a data science context. - Familiarity with any of the monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Exposure to Python and R would be beneficial.
- A broad understanding of data science and machine learning.
- Experience in using version control systems especially Git / Azure Dev
Ops. - Experience in using infrastructure as code approaches such as Terraform.
