Job Description:

1. Experience with cable industry standard practices, interfaces, operating systems, and protocols such as DOCSIS 3. 0/3. 1, SIP, and Packet
   Cable.
2. Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, and MPLS, working knowledge of IS-IS.
3. Prior extensive experience surrounding Ethernet and IP Service (Ethernet Private Line, Private LAN, Dedicated Internet, IPVLN, Internet, and Managed Router).
4. MEF 2. 0 and 3. 0 understanding and support.
5. BGP experience at an ISP level both Corporate and Customer facing.
6. SME support in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols that support Business Services.
7. OAM, CFM understanding and support.
8. RFC2544, Y. 1564 and Y. 1731 understanding and support.
9. IPv4 and IPv6 understanding and support.
10. WAVE Services understanding and support.
11. Engineering position focused on Network Automation, Software Defined Networks and Network Virtualization within the Commercial Services line of business.
12. Engineer will participate in the evaluation, design, trial and deployment of our next generation network (NGN) products and service delivery.
13. Experience with hands on across a national Metro-E,
    - vendor network is preferred. A background supporting a service provider network is a plus.
14. Engineer will partner with architecture, BU, service delivery and operations to drive
    - going evolution and support of the current platform.
15. This individual should have practical knowledge of managed services for customer network implementations.
16. Individual should have practical knowledge of large enterprise network implementations in various industries.
17. Background in design and deployment of complex data networks in the Midsize and Enterprise Market highly preferred.
18. Working knowledge of IPS/IDS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems), DDo
    S, Firewalls and Security event management.
19. CCNP, JNCIP certification and equivalent working experience.
20. It is desirable to have knowledge in cloud management systems like Open
    Stack and VMware v
    Cloud, Network management products, OSS products and familiarity with industry standards, specifically ETSI.
21. Operation Escalations – Adv Ops, Service Delivery and Service Assurance support.
22. Experience of building
    - availability (HA)
    - grade solutions in virtualised environments.
23. Familiar with Postgre
    SQL, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL.
24. Any exposure to supporting Business KPI’s, network metrics and performance analysis is a plus.
25. Work within Agile/Scrum methodology and approach.
