Lab is a growing collaborative laboratory that combines academia and industry allies in an innovation framework to boost tech transfer in the areas of cyberphysical systems and cybersecurity. We are actively seeking Embedded Systems Research Engineers to strengthen our team.

WHO?

VORTEX-Co
Lab is looking for exceptional Embedded Systems Research Engineers with a background in Computer Engineering or similar (Embedded Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics) and who meet the following requirements:

• Solid understanding of embedded systems, including hardware/software
  - design and integration;
• Hands-on experience in FPGA development, particularly using AMD (Xilinx) tools and platforms;
• Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems, along with hardware description languages (HDL) like VHDL and/or Verilog;
• Familiar with IP design flow, with expertise in RTL design, verification, and integration into larger systems;
• A real thirst for knowledge and to stay ahead of the latest trends make you an active curious and inventive thinker. You´re not afraid to try something new;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• Experience with
  - speed architectures and communication protocols;
• Familiarity with RISC-V architecture, including processor design and implementation for embedded systems, as well as related tools like instruction sets and toolchains;
• Experience in developing innovative solutions for
  - critical and
  - time embedded systems;
• Familiarity with
  - oriented programming languages;
• Familiarity with Linux device drivers and microcontrollers;
• Familiarity with connectivity protocols like Zigbee, Lo
  Ra, Bluetooth;
• Familiarity with
  - level communication protocols like SPI, I2C, Ethernet, UART, CAN;
• A love of all things tech; from the latest in artificial intelligence, to whatever software, hardware, or combination of both, is required to get the job done.

As an Embedded Systems Research Engineer at Vortex-Co
Lab you will work collaboratively with a
- functional team of other engineers, researchers, designers and product managers supporting initiatives that will define the next generation of embedded and
- time systems that are highly connected, with massive processing power and performing complex applications. As a member of the team you will drive future concepts and contribute to our innovation roadmap and prototype solutions.

How you can expect to fill your days:

• Design and implement FPGA-based solutions for embedded systems;
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, prototype, and test solutions that meet complex functional and performance criteria;
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for design specifications, test plans, and code;
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance system performance and functionality;
• Feed your passion for embedded systems and all things tech through the participation in awesome research and innovation projects;
• Perform verification & validation testing of embedded systems which will contribute to the creation of
  -
  - the box prototypes;
• With a keen focus on productivity, analyze, monitor and improve efficiency and stability of the systems and optimize I/O performance;
• Boost up the creative environment provided and demonstrate quickness in learning and ability to experiment
  - cutting technologies;
