What you will be doing

1. Be part of the Engineering team and shape the
   - term technology vision and strategy aligning with the company’s objectives.
2. Be a role model for the company values.
3. Work effectively
   - functionally and with leadership, leveraging data and metrics to identify new opportunities for existing and new projects and features.
4. Define architectural standards and guidelines across the company in collaboration with the Technical Advisory Group, Directors of Engineering, and Platform teams.
5. Arbitrate on technical decisions within your scope.
6. Define Operational Excellence KPIs and standards, and partner with Directors of Engineering to ensure highly performant solutions are developed and continuously improved.
7. Drive performance and efficiency improvements across the company's platform, leading initiatives in load testing, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
8. Ensure comprehensive documentation of system architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures.
9. Mentor and develop Principal and Staff Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
10. Ensure system reliability and compliance.

What we are looking for

1. At least 3-5 years of experience working as a Principal Engineer - experience as an individual contributor working with agile methodologies and with experience architecting and running
   - scale tier 1 systems.
2. Expertise in designing and implementing complex system architectures, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
3. Strong working experience with Java and web frameworks (preferably Spring), with exposure to multiple programming languages.
4. Experience with
   - driven architectures and tools for queueing and streaming (preferably Apache Kafka).
5. Experienced working with
   - scale Databases (SQL and No
   SQL), with a good understanding of data modelling and optimization.
6. Experience with containerization (preferably Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
7. Strong black box test automation experience is a plus.
8. Experience designing and developing platforms built for scale is a plus.
