Ops to join our Technology Operations Department in Portugal on a remote basis.

With workloads across all three major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud) we recognize the critical importance of efficient cloud operations and in turn, are looking to enhance our Fin
Ops organization. We are seeking a Director, Cloud Fin
Ops to lead Scopely’s efforts in driving cost efficiency, define the Fin
Ops roadmap, and elevate the cost visibility, accuracy, and allocation for game teams.

As the Director, Cloud Fin
Ops, you will play a pivotal leadership role in defining and executing the organization’s Fin
Ops strategy. You will own the cloud cost management roadmap, ensuring cloud investments deliver maximum value while fostering a culture of accountability and financial discipline across teams. By staying updated with industry best practices and innovations, you will guide the organization through the
- changing approaches to cloud financial optimization.

This role is highly collaborative, requiring close partnership with engineering, finance, legal, and central/game teams. In addition, this role will regularly engage with senior leadership to align cloud financial goals with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Development
2. Define and execute Scopely’s Fin
   Ops roadmap across our
   - cloud environments
3. Drive alignment between cloud financial goals and business objectives through strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration
4. Stay ahead of industry best practices, innovations, and emerging vendors
5. Optimization & Cost Efficiency
6. Lead efforts to identify and implement cost optimization strategies, including usage of Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Committed Use Discounts
7. Optimize Scopely’s cloud infrastructure through instance and service rightsizing
8. Partner with game teams to ensure efficient cloud resource utilization and
   - effective architecture design
9. Data-Driven Insights & Reporting
10. Develop cloud cost allocation methods for better accuracy, faster reporting, and more visibility across Scopely’s central and developer ecosystem
11. Increase cloud cost, usage reporting and alerting to provide
    - time,
    - specific visibility into cloud spending
12. Deliver regular financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to senior leadership and stakeholders
13. Cross-Functional Collaboration
14. Partner with game and central teams to discover, plan, and take action on cloud optimization opportunities
15. Collaborate with finance, central, and game teams to establish a culture of financial accountability and cost awareness
16. Drive training and evangelization of Fin
    Ops principles across the organization
17. Vendor Management
18. Build and maintain strategic relationships with major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud)
19. Identify opportunities for cost savings including private pricing, vendor consolidation and migration, and optimized contract commercials

What We’re Looking For

1. 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud cost optimization, or related fields
2. 5+ years in a leadership role, managing
   - cloud environments and influencing organizational strategy
3. Proven track record of driving successful Fin
   Ops initiatives in a
   - paced,
   - native organization
4. Expertise in Fin
   Ops frameworks, tools, and methodologies
5. Deep knowledge of AWS, with a strong understanding of Azure and Google Cloud platforms
6. Exceptional analytical and data visualization skills, using tools such as Big
   Query and Looker
7. Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and
   - technical stakeholders across diverse teams and timezones
