Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Position Summary:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll contribute to the success of Carl Zeiss Vision by ensuring the quality of master data in a Research & Development environment. You’ll ensure that existing, distributed, redundant and legacy data is assessed and modelled to fit with our SAP S/4HANA migration. You’ll play a crucial role in helping us to foster value from clear data structures and interfaces to utilize high quality data.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation of a new master data model for SAP S4/HANA with focus on the lens business.
• Analyse daily business and data streams to create master data for technical data.
• Collect and maintain definition tables of master data.
• Coordinate master data sets with SAP S4/HANA migration project workstreams.
• Influence process development from master data perspective.
• Work in a global team, providing a central service with colleagues around the world and communicating across different time zones.
• International travel to our Vision Headquarters in Germany.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

• 2-3 years relevant experience in the field of data engineering.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Strong knowledge of databases (Open to any but SQL preferred).
• Knowledge or experience with SAP S4 Hana.
