Client Accountant (Funchal, Madeira)
- Management of deadlines for trust financial statements and regulatory filings to the JFSC and other regulatory bodies;
- Oversight of the accounting required for clients, audits and valuations. Management of deadlines for fund financial statements and regulatory filings to the JFSC, FCA and any other regulatory bodies;
- Dealing with
- end audit issues including ensuring preparation of relevant files and resolving issues; - Preparation of annual financial statements from Nav
One ledgers; - Preparation of management accounts, when required;
- Review of financial statements and management accounts prepared by client accounting team;
- Monitoring of financial statements prepared by third parties;
- Preparation and review cash flows and budgets prepared by client accounting team;
- Preparation and review of distribution and drawdown calculations;
- Assist on drafting up policies and procedures in relation to the accounts department;
- Maintaining ledgers on Nav
One and adding in new ledgers where necessary; - Setting up ledgers and posting transactions from minutes and other source documentation;
- Setting up nominal ledgers and bank account ledgers;
- Complete
- hoc projects, as required.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain good relations with team members and other staff;
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with internal procedures and recognised accounting principles;
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and security in terms of client affairs and records and all sensitive and personal data for Company affairs and its employees;

- Identify areas where further training for staff would be beneficial, assist in the arrangement of training and accounting education;
- Maintain an awareness of all regulatory and fiscal obligations, providing guidance to the business as required;
- Ensure accurate maintenance of records;
- Achievement of client deadlines and KPI’s;

Professional Qualifications and Minimum Relevant Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting role;
- Preferably experience working with Nav
One; - Preferred Qualified – ACCA, ACA;
- Experience with IFRS, FRS and FRS102 reporting standards;
- Experience with Jersey and UK Trust, Company and Limited Partnership structures;
- Advanced Excel;
- General competency in Microsoft Office e. g. Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Experience of Nav
One would be desirable.
