With a
- focused approach, you will join the Commercial business unit that offers a complete and integrated range of products, including petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity. Additionally, it also provides convenience products and services as well as
- energy solutions, such as charging points for electric vehicles or decentralized solar energy solutions.
About your future team
Develop the strategy and commercial management of Product Categories across all stores in Portugal, ensuring their correct implementation in line with the defined strategy for Convenience.
Ensure the development and management of a differentiated value proposition by offering articles and services in the categories under your responsibility, meeting diverse consumption trends and the needs of customers in the Galp store network.
Globally coordinate the procurement of suppliers, articles, and services to achieve the best cost/quality/lead time ratio, meeting the sales and margin objectives of the Convenience business while ensuring proper implementation across the entire store network.
How will your

- day look like
- Develop, design, and implement the strategy for the categories under your responsibility, in alignment with the business plan of both Company-Managed and Franchised stores in Portugal;
- Define the product, service, pricing, and implementation offerings according to the value propositions defined for each store format to maximize business profitability;
- Monitor market trends, being responsible for the procurement of new suppliers, products, businesses, and trends;
- Systematically follow, study, and analyze all the concepts implemented in the market for the categories under your responsibility;
- Negotiate with the various suppliers of the categories under your responsibility to secure the best supply conditions and cost prices, ensuring the competitiveness of commercial proposals by acting on cost prices, promotional discounts, and ensuring the execution of General Supply Contracts and commercial discount clauses (Rebates and Strategic Investments) for all Company-Managed and Franchised stores;
- Negotiate, coordinate, and implement, together with the suppliers of the respective categories, communication campaigns (including Galp digital platforms, home delivery channels, and others) and/or promotions at the national level. Also, coordinate merchandising policies, placement of displays, and the implementation of various commercial/promotional activities, as well as define the criteria to be implemented for each category to maximize profitability while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and effectiveness.
What makes you unique
- Academic background in Management, Hospitality Management, or Engineering;
- Extensive experience in the following areas: Product Category Management; Retail (Food, Specialized, or Mass Market), Commercial, Negotiation, Operations, and Marketing;
- Ability to develop and manage the commercial strategy of multiple product categories across all stores in Portugal, ensuring proper implementation in line with the strategy defined for Convenience stores;
- Expertise in developing and managing a differentiated value proposition through an offering of products and services in various categories that meet diverse consumption trends and the needs of customers in the Galp store network;
- Global coordination of supplier procurement, products, and services to achieve the best cost/quality/lead time ratio, meeting the sales and margin objectives defined for the business;
- Strong analytical and technical skills for Product Category Management;
- Advanced knowledge and ability to utilize and monitor the development of digital tools and commercial management systems (Power BI/Digital Platforms/Excel; SAP S4; BW; Power
Point); - Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit.
