BESS and PV Project Manager

Location: Cascais

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and Project Management of BESS and solar projects from initial feasibility studies to final implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals;
• Oversee the national and regional permitting processes, ensuring compliance with all sector regulatory requirements and securing necessary land rights;
• Identify potential projects that possess optimal solar exposure, access to electrical transmission, and favorable site characteristics;
• Monitor the generation of interconnection studies conducted by
  - party entities;
• Initiate, lead, and perform engineering analyses of alternative design strategies in collaboration with internal and external resources as necessary;
• Collaborate in negotiations for interconnection agreements with the DSO/TSO and RES Auctions/Tenders/Application Processes;
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and Investment Analysis;
• Analyze and evaluate innovative technologies in the context of BESS and Solar projects, including hybrid solutions, as the market evolves;
• Provide management with regular reports, including project pipeline updates, status reports, and any necessary documentation;
• Conduct ongoing research on energy markets and competition, particularly focusing on BESS Projects and M&A opportunities;
• Ensure continuous and effective communication with
  - functional teams;
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of progressive project management experience within the energy sector;
• In-depth knowledge of the Portuguese market and a robust network within the sector and licensing authorities;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Auto
  CAD is mandatory; familiarity with PVsyst and QGIS is advantageous;
• Experience in renewable energy projects is essential;
• Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes for renewable energy projects (DGEG, Municipalities, etc);
• Technical expertise in engineering, permitting processes, and regulatory standards related to the development, construction, and operation of energy projects will be considered a plus;
• Experience in project management, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met;
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and solar energy systems;
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Familiarity with BESS, and Solar Project Development is a plus.
