Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications to meet business requirements.
- Write efficient, clean, and
- documented COBOL code for various applications, particularly legacy systems. - Analyze business needs and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Perform system analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting to resolve issues within COBOL applications.
- Collaborate with
- functional teams, including business analysts, to ensure seamless integration with other systems and services. - Optimize COBOL programs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Test and validate COBOL applications to ensure they meet functional requirements and quality standards.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to best coding practices and standards.
- Assist in the migration and modernization of legacy COBOL systems to newer technologies, when applicable.
- Maintain and update COBOL documentation, including program logic and functional specifications, to ensure proper system knowledge transfer.
- Support and enhance the operation of legacy systems, providing ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in COBOL development and legacy system management.
Qualifications
- Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
- Experience in COBOL programming;
- Knowledge with DB2, CICS, JCL;
- Skills in SQL and data manipulation are valued;
- Proficiency in English;
- Advanced level of French is a plus;
