Automation Engineer
Role: Automation Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Automate Manual Processes: Identify and automate repetitive manual tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.
- Tool Integration: Integrate various tools and services into the CI/CD pipeline, including version control systems, build tools, testing frameworks, and deployment tools.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth and reliable automations.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to automation and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for automation processes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve automation processes to enhance efficiency.
- Agile Practices: Participate in Agile processes, contributing to sprint planning,
- ups, and retrospectives. - Best Practices: Ensure PMI Security standards are embedded into our practices and our code.
- Ownership: We operate on a true Dev
Ops model where we support the code we build and deploy.
Background and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher: In Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in Automation: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in software engineering, focusing on automation and CI/CD processes and tools.
- API Integration Expertise: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs, with a strong understanding of RESTful API principles and best practices.
- CI/CD Tools Proficiency: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and other relevant tools.
- Scripting and Programming: Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e. g. , Python, Bash) and programming languages (e. g. , Python).
- Cloud Services: Experience with cloud solutions and services, particularly AWS (e. g. , API Gateway, Lambda, Secrets Manager).
- Version Control Systems: Proven experience with source code versioning tools, e. g. , Bitbucket or Git.
- Agile Methodologies: Experienced with Agile practices and methodologies.
- Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Service
Now. - Strong Interpersonal Skills: Including creative thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, teamwork, and a drive to learn and succeed.
- Passionate About Automation: A strong advocate for automation and continuous improvement in software development processes.
